Join Taos Women Rising: The Women’s March 2020
Now is the time for women and all of their allies to rise up, speak up, and act to rescue our democracy, protect the planet, promote peace, and insure basic human rights for all. 2020 is a critical all-hands-on-deck moment in our history, and women must be in the forefront of making change happen!
Join us at Taos Women Rising—the 2020 Women’s March for the Taos area—to show our strength, support each other, and empower our community. We’ll meet at the Taos Plaza, on Saturday, January 18, from 12-1:30 p.m. From Taos, Colfax, and Rio Arriba counties and beyond, we’ll gather to honor 100 years of women being able to exercise their right to vote. We’ll celebrate that passage of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) is now finally within reach, thanks to election results in Virginia in November. But threats to women’s rights and human rights are rising and we cannot rest. So we come together now to demand peace, climate justice, equal pay, and human dignity for all, as well as to kick off a year in which we will make a difference.
We rise for peace, for our families, and for the planet. And we ask you to please join us and local public figures, speakers young and old, artists, and musicians. Show up, stand up, and speak up. Our rights and our future depend on it.
Women’s March Prep! Join us this Thursday 1/16 at 5:30 p.m. for a planning and sign-making meeting at the Democratic Party office (729-A Paseo del Sur).
And see you Saturday on the Plaza!
